Announcement: Leadership Update

October 16, 2024

An announcement from the President of the Board of Directors at Fife House about a leadership update.

Dear Fife House Community,

On behalf of the Fife House Board of Directors, I am writing to share an important leadership update. Our Executive Director, Nadine Sookermany, will be departing from Fife House to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN) as of December 2, 2024. While we are saddened by her departure, this is not goodbye. Nadine will remain closely connected to our community and continue to champion the causes that matter to us all. Fife House and the OHTN have enjoyed a strong working relationship for many years and will continue collaborating into the future.

Nadine’s leadership at Fife House began during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her thoughtful and compassionate guidance not only helped us navigate those difficult times but also contributed to significant growth and transformation within the organization. Under her leadership, we expanded the number of housing units and increased the number of clients served annually, while advancing key initiatives to strengthen our workplace culture and better address the needs of those most affected by HIV and housing insecurity. We are incredibly grateful for Nadine’s contributions, which have furthered the work of Fife House and our dedicated team.

As we move forward, the Board of Directors is committed to ensuring a smooth transition. We will work closely with staff and community stakeholders to identify a new Executive Director who will continue to build on the collective efforts of our team. In the meantime, we have full confidence in the management team to lead us through this period of change.

We are excited to see what Nadine will accomplish in her new role and take comfort in knowing she will remain a vital part of the HIV/AIDS and housing communities in Ontario. We thank her for her service and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

As we enter this new chapter, we look forward to your continued support and engagement as we build on the strong legacy and ongoing work of Fife House.

Sincerely,
Jean-Paul Michael
President, Board of Directors, Fife House
