Vaaraki’s Story

Two years ago, I became a placement student at Fife House during my social services education at Centennial College. Within my first few weeks, Fife House’s mission of providing Hope, Help and Home to nearly 700 clients won over my heart.

From re-igniting hope in people who were discriminated against, to helping those who haven’t had a place to call home in years, I witnessed Fife House work with people to improve their quality of life. I knew that I also wanted to call Fife House home.

I am proud to now be employed as a Housing Stabilization Worker in Fife House’s Homeless Outreach Program. Recently we shared Mathew’s success story which we are very proud of. My colleagues and I have the opportunity to create so many more success stories but our work is not possible without the generosity of our community.

Please consider making a gift this holiday season, and help Fife House continue to support some of the most vulnerable and marginalized members of our community. We hope you will join us and together, we can make a difference.

Thank you,

Vaaraki Wijayaraj-Thavakumar
Housing Stabilization Worker
