People who are facing homelessness or housing insecurity are among the most vulnerable in our community, and they are at a significantly increased risk due to the lack of appropriate clothing and supplies. Lack of access to essential clothing, gear and materials impact their ability to care for themselves and to face the challenges that the ever-changing weather brings, thereby putting them at increased risk for issues such as hypothermia, heat stroke, and an increased susceptibility to infections. Our goal is to provide vital supplies that ensure the ongoing safety and well-being of those in need, no matter the season.
Among other support services, Fife House’s Linkage to Care program assists individuals who are experiencing houseless-ness or housing insecurity – particularly those living with HIV/AIDS – by distributing essential supplies that are necessary for their well-being, including tools and protection to help them stay safe and comfortable, come rain, shine or snow.
