I started volunteering with Fife House in 1996. People often want to know what has compelled me to stay involved for over 23 years. Do you want to know what I tell them?
I tell them that I was sick of watching so many people around me die during the AIDS Crisis. I wanted to make a difference because Fife House provides Hope, Help and a Home to people living with HIV/AIDS in our community.
I have witnessed the organization grow tremendously since I first began my involvement. In 1996, Fife House had a few dozen clients at two locations. The organization now serves nearly 700 people. The growing need for Fife House’s services is the reason why I have contributed more than 15,000 hours, which is equivalent to eight years in a full-time position!
Mathew’s success story is one of hundreds that I have seen throughout my time at Fife House. It is the reason why I am also a monthly donor and have been continuing to support Fife House for over two decades.
Please consider making a gift this World AIDS Day, and help Fife House continue to support some of the most vulnerable and marginalized members of our community.
We hope you will join us and together, we can make a difference.
Thank you,
Helen Knight
