The Blake House and owner Jimmy Vasilakakos have been amazing supporters of Fife House for so many years. A regular staple at our annual ‘A Taste For Life’ event, The Blake House continually lends their support whenever possible to our organization. This year (the second year we’ve had to postpone A Taste For Life due to COVID-19), The Blake House went out of their way to raise funds for us, by donating 25% of their April 14th, 2021 take-out proceeds! They were able to raise $600 in one day, which will be matched by our amazing #TwiceForFife sponsors, TD, Community One Foundation and Well + Good Pharmacy. We are so so grateful for the support!

We took a moment out to chat with Jimmy about The Blake House’s involvement with Fife House – check out our mini-interview below!

What was your first touchpoint with Fife House?

Our first touchpoint with the Fife House was around 7 years ago. ¬†We were introduced to many of their volunteers and employees. After being exposed to this foundation’s mission and attributes, we felt it was imperative to do our part to assist the community. We continue to host events and do our part annually fundraising for “The Taste for Life” event.

Why is supporting Fife House important to you?

People forget that there is no medical cure for AIDS. As a result, this decease can be controlled with medication and that can be quite expensive. That’s where Fife House steps in.

Do you have a favourite Fife memory?

Our favourite memories are the past volunteer appreciation events we held at The Blake House. There is such an outpouring of goodwill that’s felt during these get togethers.

Do you have a favourite event or initiative that you’ve taken part of?

A Taste for Life has always been such an amazing initiative for us!

There’s only 4 more days left in April to donate to Fife House and have your contribution matched! You can do so here:
