With the support of The Lloyd Carr Harris Foundation, Fife House has invested in a catering enterprise, hiring residents, clients and peer volunteers to work in the kitchen. The Catering Enterprise provides fresh and high quality meals to agencies and community partners at very competitive prices.
Fife House uses the Catering Enterprise as an opportunity to engage and empower people living with HIV/AIDS to learn new skills and/or exercise their experience in the food industry towards an activity that create sense of belonging for them, and at the same time provides some income.
The peers hired in this enterprise work on as-needed basis, depending of the number of orders received, and are paid wages to complement their income.
If you are a person living with HIV/AIDS and are interested in joining our catering enterprise, contact our Food Developer Worker, Claudette Samuels to inquire if we are hiring new caters.
