Every year Fife House takes students from different educational institutions to complete their student placements. We believe it is a privilege for staff to work with students and therefore believe in providing meaningful and rewarding opportunities where students get to put their theories into practice and further developing their knowledge and skills. Some of the areas where students are placed included: Community Programs, Residential Programs, the Homeless Outreach Program, Research, ABRPO, and Coordinated Access Intake.
As student placements fall under the Volunteer Services portfolio of Fife House, all approved students starting their placement with Fife House will be required to attend an orientation with the Manager of Community Programs, Peer Engagement and Volunteers, complete the HIV/AIDS and Harm Reduction on-line courses, meet with their program placement supervisor, and do program specific training. All on-boarding students are required to submit a Vulnerable Sectors Screening (Police Reference Check) with their learning contract from their school. It should be noted, that all placements are on a first-come-first serve basis.
For more information on student placements and all other related inquiries, please contact our Manager of Community Programs, Peer Engagement and Volunteers, Michael Schneider.
