Fife House is extremely grateful the donors who support our mission to provide supportive housing and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto. Below are the different ways you can make a financial contribution to Fife House.
One-Time Donation
Can be made by cash, cheque, money order, credit card or online. Consider becoming a monthly donor to regularly support our work! All donations of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt.
Fife House Builders
Fife House needs people who can help us build – build residences, build programs, build services – so we’ve established a monthly giving program called Fife House Builders. By becoming a Fife House Builder, you give a fixed amount every month to help build a stable foundation for Fife House. Learn more about our Fife House Builders program.
Ron Robertson Enhancement Fund
This specialty fund was created to honour the memory of Ron Robertson who led the 10-year project to redevelop the site of the former Wellesley Central Hospital. The site now houses a number of buildings, including Fife House’s Sherbourne residence. Funds raised are used to maximize and strengthen the quality of life of the Sherbourne residence. Learn more about the Ron Robertson Enhancement Fund.
Tribute Donation
Make a donation to Fife House in honour of a family member, friend, colleague or a special event like a wedding or graduation.
Corporate Giving
Many corporations have special programs to match gifts their employees make to charities. It’s a great way to acknowledge your contribution and double your gift! Check with your Human Resources Department for more information.
Legacy Giving
Leaving a legacy gift to Fife House can help ensure our mission for another 30 years to come. Are you interested in leaving a bequest in your will, an RRSP, RRIF, insurances or securities? Learn more about planned giving here.
Gift of Securities
When a donation of appreciated publicly traded securities, such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds, or stock options is made to Fife House or other charities, the capital gains tax on the securities is eliminated when the securities are transferred directly to the organization. You will also receive a donation receipt based on the full fair market value of the shares for the close of market on the day the securities are received by our partner, Canada Helps. This tax break can significantly reduce the cost of your donation and allow you to give more than you would have imagined possible. Donations of Securities and Mutual Funds can be made here.
Host Your Own Fundraising Event!
Hosting an event for Fife House is a fun way to raise money for our programs and service. Speak to someone in our Development and Communications Office about your event idea at (416) 205-9888.
Gifts In-Kind
Fife House welcomes donations of certain in-kind gifts. For the health and safety of our clients, and to ensure that in-kind gifts can be utilized appropriately and efficiently, we are only able to accept certain in-kind gifts. Learn more about in-kind gifts, and our gift registry of much-needed items, at this link.
Tax Receipts
Fife House issues tax receipts on a monthly basis for eligible donations received by our Head Office. Consolidated tax receipts for donors who give more than three times a year are sent in January.
